Tours For Teachers

Tours for Teachers aims to support workforce readiness, build talent pipelines, and bridge the gap between educators and businesses within Castle Rock and Douglas County.  The Tours for Teachers program provide an in-depth discussion and “behind the scenes” tour of local businesses and industries in Douglas County.  Allowing educators to collaborate with business leaders to prepare the students to enter the workforce.

By opening the communication between both local businesses and educators we will provide students the resources needed to enter the work force, promote earn while you learn career opportunities and reduce the “training to productivity” gap.   Therefore, creating a winning collaboration for our education system and business leaders.

Designed for teachers, administrators, counselors, and staff giving them resources and insight to help understand the workforce needs of today and the future.  The program includes an orientation, 3 tour dates plus independent assignments and runs during the fall semester.

Eric Dunker

“Tours for Teachers allow our professionals in the classroom the opportunity to visit area businesses that will eventually employ the students they are teaching. They get to hear directly from CEO’s and the current workforce on the skills they need in the future and the products or services the business produces. Our teachers can take that knowledge directly back into the classroom which helps create a more well-rounded curriculum and teaching environment.” said Eric Dunker, Ph.D., Vice President: Workforce and Economic Development with Arapahoe Community College.
